Essential Oils are called so because in ancient times they were believed to contain the essence of the plant. They are the source of the Aroma and Flavor of the plant.
Lemon Essential Oil is obtained from the peel of the lemon fruit, through the extraction process by cold pressing.
It contains a variety of volatile and oxygenated components that contribute to its aroma and properties. Some of the volatile components include Terpenes (D-limonene, B-pinene, Gamma Terpinene, Sabinene, etc), Sequisterpenes (B-bisabolene, Alpha Bergamotene, etc). Among its Oxigenated components are aldehydes: citral (neral, geranial), citronellal, Geranyl acetate, etc.
